Sudangrass is a fast-growing, warm-season annual grass primarily cultivated for forage, cover cropping, and soil improvement. It performs well in hot, dry climates after establishment and regrows rapidly after cutting or grazing.
Sorghum-sudan is a hybrid cross between forage sorghum and sudangrass, combining the vigor and drought tolerance of sorghum with the fine stems and rapid regrowth of sudangrass. It is widely used as a warm-season annual forage and cover crop. It establishes quickly in warm conditions and is ready for first cutting 45–60 days after planting.
