How We Got Our Start

Craig Teel and Dana Herron formed Tri-State Seed Company LLC in Craig’s kitchen in the late fall of 2005. Tri-State Seed consists of a warehouse and bulk seed distribution facility at the intersection of Lind Road and SR 395 in Connell Washington. You may know this location as the site where 30 seed storage bins are located just south of the Coyote Ridge Correctional facility.

We came to the decision to start our own company after much prayerful consideration. Collectively, we have over 50 years of accumulated knowledge and experience in cereal and grass seed production. Our new business has three basic assets, our integrity, our technical expertise and our relationship with each of you. Together we hope to have a lot of fun and make each of you some money.

Tri-State Seed Company’s mission is to provide you with products of exceptional value and quality along with a level of service exceeding your expectations. We will be offering seed production contracts for wheat, oats, barley and triticale. We will be actively soliciting both irrigated and dry land producers to grow our seed products. Our primary focus will be retail sales to producers in our general trade area.

Tri-State Seed Co. LLC is owned 100% by Tri-Cities Grain LLC of Pasco, Washington. We will be actively seeking your grain merchandising business. Damon Filan and Randy Ward at Tri-Cities Grain are well respected in the area of grain origination and merchandising. They are both very knowledgeable and run a very efficient and productive operation. We are fortunate to have them on our team. You can reach them at 1-509-545-0900 or www.tcgrain.com for market commentary and current commodity quotes.
