How We Got Our Start

Craig Teel and Dana Herron formed Tri-State Seed Company LLC in Craig’s kitchen in the late fall of 2005. Tri-State Seed consists of a warehouse and bulk seed distribution facility at the intersection of Lind Road and SR 395 in Connell Washington. You may know this location as the site where 30 seed storage bins are located just south of the Coyote Ridge Correctional facility.

Craig and Dana came to the decision to start their own company after much prayerful consideration. Collectively, they had over 50 years of accumulated knowledge and experience in cereal and grass seed production. Tri-State Seed was built considering three core values- integrity, technical expertise, and a pursiut to uphold relationships with our valued customers.

Tri-State Seed Company’s mission is to provide our customers with products of exceptional value and quality along with a level of service that exceeds expectations. We will be offering seed production contracts for wheat, oats, barley and triticale and actively seek both dryland and irrigated producers to grow these products. Our primary focus will be retail sales to producers in our general trade area.

Tri-State Seed Co. LLC is now owned 100% by Tri-Cities Grain LLC of Pasco, Washington. While Tri-State Seed offers opportunities in quality seed production and distribution, Tri-Cities Grain is actively seeking grain merchandising business. Together, we have the opportunity to service the needs of farmers across the Pacific Northwest from start to finish.
